01Overview
This policy explains what information AnimeNow ("we", "us") collects when you use the AnimeNow app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service, keep it safe and keep it free.
Short version: you can watch without an account. If you sign in, we store your profile, bookmarks, history and comments. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID. We never sell your personal information.

We do not ask for your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
03How we use it
- To provide streaming, subtitles, bookmarks, history and the release calendar.
- To send notifications you asked for, such as new episodes of series you bookmarked and replies to your comments.
- To verify purchases and apply Premium or ad-free rewards to your account or device.
- To moderate comments and enforce our Terms, including account and device restrictions for abuse.
- To prevent fraud, spam and misuse of rewards.
- To fix crashes and understand which features people use, so we can improve the app.
- To show ads that keep the app free.
04Advertising
The free version of AnimeNow shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and ad interactions to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown.
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your Android settings (Settings › Google › Ads or Settings › Privacy › Ads, depending on your device). Premium removes ads entirely.
05Third-party services
We rely on the following providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

07Retention
- Watch history is deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Only your most recent notifications are kept in the app.
- Account, profile, bookmarks and comments are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Purchase records are kept as long as needed to honor Premium and meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Crash and analytics data are retained according to Firebase's retention settings.
08Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your AnimeNow account and its associated data at any time:
- Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account, or include your username.
- Use the subject line "Delete my AnimeNow account".
- We confirm the request and delete your account, profile, bookmarks, history and comments within 30 days.
Some records may be kept where the law requires it, for example purchase records for accounting, or records needed to prevent repeat abuse. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
09Your choices
You can watch without an account; turn notifications off in the app or in Android settings; edit or delete your comments; reset your advertising ID; and request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law, which we honor.
10Children
AnimeNow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and fix issues quickly.
12Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the new version here and update the effective date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the app.
